Lovely, LOVELY day at the Zoo today with Tara and her girls. It's no secret that I have not been a big fan of the Dallas Zoo. In that post I actually said, "In general I think it is shameful that we advertise it as our city zoo. It is just pathetic." A little harsh for sure. After that year I haven't had a membership and never thought I would. Today, I renewed! The new Savanna section is GREAT. It is spacious and natural and you get to feed giraffes! The kids had a great time and we didn't even make it over to the kid's section!
This was the play yard where you could get closer to the elephants. BUT they have a HUGE habitat for them to roam around in with all of the other Savanna animals. The pic below is just a portion of that area.
Took a picture of this guy because he reminded me of Foster, what with all the eating of dirt.
Giraffey want a cracker? (Grayson feeding him) It should be noted that Foster freaked out and dropped his cracker. This is important because people always think Foster is more gutsy.
Sheridan feeding the giraffe. Incidentally, she'll be two is two days and I was there the day she was born. Time flies!
Amelia (Sheridan's sister)
I couldn't get this pic to turn the right way but it was so sweet I posted it anyhow. This is Foster waiting for the Monorail to start. He looks so obedient! (looks, of course, can be VERY deceiving!)
He does look so obedient! Cutie pie.
Looks great. Can't wait to go soon. So thankful you all had the time together.
