So we had another round of sickness here! Seriously!! How ridiculous is that?? Luckily, mom was here so Grayson (the other sick person besides me) and I got to lie in bed all day while being offered tea and soup. I LOVE my dear husband, but tending to a sick person is not his forte. Heck, I really know no woman who claims her husband is particularly good at that. Just to be brought nourishment and to be asked how I'm doing every couple of hours... Well, no one takes care of you like your mama. I think part of the reason I got sick again was that I really had not gotten totally well from my previous illness, didn't get a lot of sleep, and then taught class all weekend.
Incidentally, GREAT CLASS at the new location!! Such awesome couples that were so open to learning. We had a chiropractor in the mix this time which was fun. I'm excited about our next round of classes there. If you are looking to get coffee with space for the kids to be silly, go down to Mokah! They are SUPER kid friendly, have a good space and great coffee. Plus, you'll be supporting a faith-based non-profit. Really, you can't go wrong!
BTW, Foster is standing in front of me eating a huge apple. No cutting up, no peeling. Just tells you how different kids are - Grayson requires everything to be peeled and cut up just so...
Now to talk of the obvious - it's icy outside! RREALLY icy! I am so over it. We've gotten out both days. Maybe it's my northern genes. Maybe I have a death wish. Whatever - it hasn't been that bad. No roads that I felt I was risking life or limb... or even just limb. We headed on a trip to Whole Foods yesterday only to find it closed! Luckily, Central Market was open and uncrowded and we had a nice time roaming the aisles and eating samples. Today we went to Sundee's and had a nice morning playing. Not sure what's on tap for tomorrow, but certain we'll need to do something! I am so, so grateful my mom is here!! It's made this so much more tolerable and actually kind of fun.
One more side note. I just put the boys to bed and had a long conversation with Foster about being scared. I was trying to pinpoint what his issue was. He told me he was scared of the truck in the alley. He was referring to the truck and workers that have come along with the redo across the alley from us. Anyhow, he says he's scared because of the trucks and the workers and then says, "When they are done working on da house, I'm scared de're gonna..." I'm thinking he's going to say, "Come and get me!" or something like that because I watch too much Law and Order. Wanna know what he says? "I'm scared de're gonna honk dere horns!" Yes, that's the big fear keeping him up at night. Love the innocence! We had to go out in the freezing cold to look in the alley and see that there were no trucks or workers and thus no honking horns.
Let's see, in other news, just prior to the cold snap and at the beginning of the sickness, we drove over to Jerry's place to check out Super Bowl preparations. Somewhat interesting although I am just not into the NFL. I know, I know, I need to be. I am in a house of boys! But really, I could care less. I'm trying to get fired up because it's the Packers and I am half Wisconsonite... If I wear a cute Packer's t-shirt, make some good queso and watch the kids so Keith can watch the game, can that just be enough?
I think it will! Keith will probably be happy just to be home as he has been working like crazy - leaving every morning at 830 or 9 and getting home at 10pm at the earliest. He's currently on a flight to LA. He deserves a little R&R so I hope it isn't too crazy there.
Off to watch some Top Chef. Stay warm!
